On February 15th, 2025, the AYLUS Orlando branch successfully installed a Little Library at Sylvan Lake Park, along with a collection of books to stock it. This initiative was inspired by previous interactions between AYLUS volunteers and local children who appeared to have limited access to books. Recognizing a potential gap in literacy resources, we decided to establish a Little Library in this area to provide children and the community with easier access to reading materials. Sylvan Lake Park, located in Seminole County, is a luxurious 133-acre recreation hub known for its athletic facilities, hiking trails, and nature-rich environment. It features tennis courts, soccer fields, a boat launch for Sylvan Lake, and shaded picnic areas, making it an ideal location to encourage both outdoor activity and reading engagement.
